Mrs. Mar-Gerie Crawley

Director

Mrs. Crawley studied Mass Communications with an emphasize in Broadcast Journalism at Hampton University and Virginia Commonwealth University. It was while she was in college that she worked at her first childcare center, where she fell in love with working with kids. In 2006, Mrs. Crawley accepted the position as Director of NDCA. Children have always been a passion for Mrs. Crawley. Under her leadership NDCA has grown tremendously and continues to grow each year. Mrs. Crawley is a leader to not only the staff which she has the pleasure of having on her team, but also to every student that has been enrolled under her tenure at the Academy. She gives all credit to God for anything that she has been able to accomplish during her 12 years as Director. It is her desire that every student that graces the halls of NDCA know just how loved, cared for, and valuable they truly are. She is a leader that is molding, shaping, and building young leaders for the future. 

When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking and going on vacations.

Mrs. K. Janell WIlford

Office Manager

Mrs. Wilford has been a part of the NDCA team for 15 years. What started as a high school summer job turned into a full time passion for Mrs. Wilford. Beginning as a k-4 and k-5 assistant, she begin to realize that teaching was a God-given gift, thus, pushing her into becoming a k-3 teacher for a number of years. After her years in the classroom, Mrs. Wilford decided to give up her teacher books and take up the managing duties of the Administrative office. She currently serves as the Office Manager and while she enjoys this task, she is still grateful to have her hands in the lives of the students.

Mrs. Wilford enjoys spending time with her children and husband.

Mrs. Melinda Jenkins

Second Grade Teacher/Program Specialist

Mrs. Jenkins has a strong business background of employment with MCV hospitals and HealthSouth rehab. Her passion evolved for students in October 2002 in which she began as an assistant teacher at NDCA. During her tenure with the Academy, she has served in almost every grade level class. She was the first combined class teacher at the Academy. After years in the classroom her business background led her to the Administrative office where she now serves as the Program Specialist. Mrs. Jenkins is grateful for the opportunity provided by NDCA to touch many lives.

Mrs. Jenkins has one son and one grandson, with whom she enjoys spending time. She also enjoys shopping and relaxing with her Mom.

Dr. Amanda N. Glenn

Operations Manager

Dr. Glenn holds a Ph.D. in Kinesiology from Texas Woman's University, a MBA and a B.S. in Business Administration from Georgian Court University. She comes to NDCA with a host of business and IT experience. Dr. Glenn is a published author with a book chapter in a sport management textbook. She is working on an article that will be published in the Journal of Sport Management. Dr. Glenn enjoys working with the children at NDCA.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing video games and watching sports.

Barbara Simpson

Dietian

Mrs. Simpson has been a chef since 1979. She was a cook and kitchen manager for the United States Army and the United States Air Force. Currently, she has been the chef at NDCA for 17 years. Mrs. Simpson truly enjoys cooking for children and adamantly states "after working with children, I will not cook for adults again!" She also enjoys spending time with her family, drinking coffee and eating chocolate.

Charlette Banks "Cha Cha"

Nursery Lead Teacher

Mrs. Banks brings 28 years of childcare experience to NDCA. After owning an at home private daycare for 21 years, Mrs. Banks decided to join NDCA. She has been the Lead Nursery Teacher for seven years.  She enjoys working with the babies at NDCA, watching television and drinking an ice cold Pepsi.

Carmen Martinez

K-2 1/2 Assistant

Ms. Martinez brings twenty years of experience working with children to NDCA. For the last six years she has taught in the nursery and K-2 1/2 classes and she has taught Spanish to all class levels at NDCA. She is a Pastor at Born To Govern With Christ Ministries.  She loves to work with children because she firmly believes that children are an inheritance from the Lord. Ms. Martinez is grateful for the opportunity work with children.

Kaycie Baxter

Kindergarten Lead Teacher

Brandy Brittingham

First Grade Lead Teacher

Mrs. Brittingham attended Winston-Salem State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  She has been teaching for twelve years, 8 of which have been with the Academy. Mrs. Brittingham takes pride in being a teacher and thoroughly enjoys her work.  She enjoys being a mother, wife and a team player. She thanks God for helping her be the best she can be in Him.
